Thank Goodness for Netflix

It is never a good thing when you wake up with the stomach flu and have to call in sick to your boss at your internship. I've been so sad that I've had to miss an entire day! However, because I had to call out sick, I had most of the day to catch up on school work and catch up on Netflix as well. And all I can say is, thank goodness for Netflix because it sure acts as a good distraction from thinking about how miserable I've been feeling all day! I don't know what it is about this strain of the flu, but it is quite awful, and somehow worse than the "normal" flu! I am pretty sure I have watched close to ten episodes of Friends, but I still have a long way to go, seeing as how I'm only in season two and I think there are ten seasons total! Although I do love watching Friends, and catching up on other shows on Netflix, I so hope that this is just a short-lived thing, so I can resume my bustling, busy life soon.

Here's to hoping this is just a twenty four hour thing and I will be back to feeling normal tomorrow, because I am pretty positive that I can only be this lazy and sleep this much for one day without going crazy.

  1. Oh my goodness, I hope you're feeling better! There has been a super nasty flu bug going around. I feel like Netflix was meant for binge watching and sick days haha.
Anyways, your internship sounds very interesting and honestly, extremely supportive of kids around the state and the nation. Absolutely amazing. You're making a difference in lives so young and so impressionable that to them, you are truly an angel of sorts.

    Super cool

  2. I think it is always good to get a day off every now and then, I’m sorry it had to be under those circumstances. At least you got to catch up on some homework and maybe a couple of your favorite shows. I hope you feel better!

  3. Hope you are feeling better! I feel the same way about Netflix being a good distraction. Its funny because when people ask me "what do you do for fun" I jokingly answer "binge watch TV." But, it is definitely not a joke. I recently started watching the Walking Dead and I am hooked! I was reluctant to start watching it at first, because I am not that into Zombies. My girlfriend finally got me to though and I can't wait to be all caught up!

  4. Hey Mackenzie!

Hope you are feeling better by now! I too got sick last Monday and had to call off which sucked :( I had two committee meetings that day but my coworkers assured me it be safer to stay home and recuperate then to risk getting the whole office sick. My day was also spent dong homework and watching Netflix (more so watching Netflix) and finally finished the first 2 seasons of House of Cards, which is very popular in the office. Though I am happy to see they put Friends on Netflix, I have some reservations since I've literally been scarred by the "Chandler Being" references I have got almost all my life. Now since I've moved to Tempe, I get the "Chandler? Oh like the city?" which is really no better lol. Anyways, great blog you have very interesting material and I look forward to see what you'll write about next!
